Here you will find images of various sorts that I have grown fond of over the years. I still have several more to add and some may eventually get split off into separate galleries.

earthtonesimages > This one branch was all that could make it above about four feet of snow. It was still early in the morning and the frost had not burned off yet. By the time we returned a few hours later it was all gone.
earthtonesimages > This was a very memorable sunset. The building is Crystal Mill on Crystal Creek in Colorado. It is one of the most photographed scenes in Colorado. The mill sits in the creek valley and sunset light only reaches a few days a year. Here is one of those days along with the aspen at their peak.
earthtonesimages > On my way to photograph a rather famous place in the Sneffels Wilderness I came across this rock covered in fall color and frost at daybreak.
earthtonesimages > I came upon this boat on the shores of Lake Wanaka, New Zealand shortly after sunrise. Snow had fallen the night before on nearby peaks and the season was all but done for this boat.

earthtonesimages > This poor little boat had been sitting outside a restaurant in Crystal, CO for a while. I had pretty good light that day and thought it made a nice story.
earthtonesimages > I had never seen color like this in a stream before. I guess that is what happens when the foliage overhead is so dense that there is no sky! This stream is deep in the rain forest on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington.
earthtonesimages > The difficult conditions near timberline are reflected in this tree. The snow lingers in mid-July here near 11,000'.
